CAROLINE THERESE L. SAHAGUN BAGS GRAND PRIZE IN ESSAY WRITING CONTEST July 14, 2009
 Congratulations to CAROLINE THERESE L. SAHAGUN of Grade 4F for winning the grand prize of Nickelodeon’s The Big Green Help Essay Writing Contest which was open to kids aged 14 and below in Singapore, Malaysia, Indonesia, and the Philippines. As her prize, she won a trip for two (2) to Daejon, Korea to attend the 2009 Tunza International Children’s Conference on the Environment from August 17 to August 20, 2009.
Submitted during the summer, Caroline’s winning 500-word essay entitled A Small Start covered the environmental issue that she is most concerned about and what she has been doing to help answer the problem. Click to view A SMALL START In partnership with the United Nations Environment Programme, The Big Green Help campaign is a global pro-social initiative of Nickelodeon, a producer of shows for kids like SpongeBob SquarePants , The Wild Thornberrys , The Fairly OddParents as well as several pre-school shows for younger kids like Blue's Clues and Dora The Explorer. The Big Green Help campaign translates complex environmental messaging or issues into simple meaningful actions that kids can do and empower them to lead the way in saving the environment.
