RICHELLE ANN LIM READS PALANCA-WINNING POEMS DURING AWARDS CEREMONY
September 17, 2009

DLSZ’s very own Richelle Ann Lim (DLSZ 2016) read three award-winning English poems during the Carlos Palanca Memorial Awards for Literature held last September 1, 2009 at the Rigodon Ballroom of The Peninsula Hotel.
She read the poems, I See the Ocean Green & Blue by Edgardo B. Maranan, (1st Prize); Big World for Little People by Heidi Emily Eusebio Abad, (2nd Prize); and I Wonder from “Turtle and Other Poems for Children” by H. Francisco V. Penones (3rd Prize).

Richelle admitted that her legs were shaking the whole time she was reading because she knew distinguished people attended the Palanca Awards. Richelle speaks clearly with a lilting voice, has very
good diction and a very expressive face that explains why she was chosen among several children who auditioned.

Asked if she’s willing to join in poetry reading events in school, Richelle candidly replied, “I’d very much prefer to sing. You see, I joined the Zobel Idol last year and I think I will join again this November. I love singing!”

With a charming personality enhanced by her musical talent and the gift of gab, Richelle will surely make it big in public speaking, rhetoric, and theatre.
